About

In October 2008 we announced that we had not launched a social media department. Yes, it was a bit tongue-in-cheek and we wanted to stir things up a bit. We were certainly happy that the Australian press got it (shows that the Aussies have a far better sense of humour than the British):

However, the reason we launched The Hive is that, quite simply, we were a little confused with all the talk in the press about people either launching social media departments or social media agencies. It made absolutely no sense to us. Social media simply represents an evolution of the way people behave (a very positive evolution in our opinion) and it should just be part of what all agencies deliver on. Surely, given that the digital industry has been talking about engagement and conversations for years now, and finally it is possible, this is where life starts getting interesting.
If we were confused then how must our clients feel? So, we decided to create The Hive – a collective of the people with Profero and Plan.Net who have been delivering campaigns for years (our first UGC campaign was for Which? Online in London in 2002).

The Hive Blog simply represents an outlet for The Hive to talk about anything interesting that is happening or if they simply have something to say. We hope you can join in.

Obviously if you want to find out more about Profero and get in contact, feel free to visit our site.
